Dr. Jeanne Taylor Describes Referred Pain

Did you know that your teeth can have referred pain? Sometimes the pain can feel like it is in one tooth, when the actual source of the pain is in a different tooth, or in the gums, or the jaw.   Nerve pain originating from a lower molar can be felt in a lower front tooth, or it can be felt in the upper molar region above the lower tooth.  Therefore, when you have a toothache, the dentist may need to take an x-ray showing adjacent teeth and opposing teeth.  Eventually referred pain usually localizes, though it may take days or weeks.  Dr.  Jeanne Taylor can seek the source of pain early, preventing that sometimes long and uncomfortable wait.

If you have pain, and need to have it examined to find the source, call the office of Dr. Jeanne Taylor, located at 3410 Far West Blvd., Ste. 320, Austin, TX, 78731.  Telephone 512-343-2425
